Tungsten-copper composites are two-phase pseudo-alloys primarily composed of tungsten and copper, and are metal-matrix composites. Due to the significant differences in the physical properties of copper and tungsten, they cannot be produced using casting methods; instead, powder metallurgy technology is typically employed.

 

Tungsten-copper alloys have a wide range of applications, with a significant portion used in aerospace, aviation, electronics, power, metallurgy, machinery, and sporting goods industries. They are also used to manufacture contacts for high-voltage electrical switches resistant to arc erosion, high-temperature components such as rocket nozzle throat liners and tail fins, as well as electrodes for electrical discharge machining, high-temperature molds, and other applications requiring high electrical and thermal conductivity and high-temperature operation.
