Product Introduction

Pure Titanium Rod is a commercially pure titanium product manufactured using vacuum arc remelting (VAR) and multiple hot/cold working processes to ensure stable microstructure and extremely low impurity levels. With a controlled oxygen, iron, and carbon content, the rod achieves an optimal balance between strength and ductility while maintaining excellent corrosion resistance in aggressive environments such as seawater, chlorides, and chemical media.
Unlike conventional titanium materials, our production process includes repeated forging and precision cold drawing, which refines grain size and significantly improves fatigue resistance. A stable TiO₂ passive oxide layer naturally forms on the surface, giving long-term protection without additional coating. This makes Pure Titanium Rod highly reliable for critical engineering and industrial applications requiring durability, cleanliness, and chemical stability.

Product Features

1. High Purity Controlled Metallurgy
The material is produced using vacuum melting technology to reduce gas inclusions (H, O, N). This improves ductility and prevents brittle fracture, which is critical in load-bearing applications.

2. Fine Grain Structure from Thermo-Mechanical Processing
Multiple forging cycles combined with controlled rolling refine the internal grain structure. This enhances fatigue strength and ensures consistent mechanical performance across the entire rod length.

3. Superior Corrosion Resistance
Titanium naturally forms a dense TiO₂ passive film. Our controlled oxygen content stabilizes this layer, allowing long-term resistance in seawater, acidic and alkaline environments without corrosion pitting.

4. High Strength-to-Weight Efficiency
Compared with stainless steel, the rod provides similar strength at nearly 45% lower weight, improving structural efficiency in aerospace and precision equipment.

5. Stable Machinability
Uniform microstructure reduces tool wear during CNC machining, making it suitable for precision components with tight tolerances.

Applications

1.Chemical Processing Systems
Pure Titanium Rod is widely used in reactors, heat exchangers, and piping supports because titanium does not react with chlorides or oxidizing acids. This prevents contamination and extends equipment lifespan in corrosive chemical plants.

2.Marine Engineering & Offshore Equipment
Saltwater contains high chloride ions that cause rapid steel corrosion. The stable oxide layer of titanium prevents electrochemical corrosion, making it ideal for seawater pumps, submarine components, and offshore structural fasteners.

3.Aerospace Structural Components
The high strength-to-weight ratio allows reduction of aircraft structural mass without compromising mechanical safety. It is commonly used in landing gear parts, structural brackets, and engine auxiliary components.

4.Medical and Precision Engineering
Due to its biocompatibility and non-toxic nature, the material is suitable for surgical instruments and precision implants where material purity directly affects safety and performance.

Customized Service

China Super Tech Co., Ltd. provides full-process customization for Pure Titanium Rod to meet engineering-grade requirements rather than standard commercial supply.
1.Dimensional Control: Diameter from 3mm to 300mm with tight tolerance up to ±0.02mm via precision CNC centerless grinding
2.Mechanical Property Adjustment: Strength and hardness can be tuned through controlled annealing and deformation ratio
3.Surface Treatment Options: Pickled, polished, sand-blasted, or mirror finish depending on application environment
4.Testing & Certification: Ultrasonic testing (UT), X-ray inspection, and chemical composition reports for each batch
This ensures every batch is traceable, consistent, and suitable for critical industrial systems where failure is not acceptable.

FAQ

1. What is the difference between CP titanium and alloy titanium?

CP (commercially pure) titanium contains minimal alloying elements, which improves corrosion resistance and biocompatibility. Alloy titanium, by contrast, is strengthened with elements like Al and V for higher mechanical strength.

2. Why does Pure Titanium Rod resist corrosion so well?

Because titanium naturally forms a stable and self-healing TiO₂ oxide layer. This layer blocks oxygen and chloride penetration, preventing electrochemical corrosion even in seawater or acidic environments.

3. Can titanium rods be used in high-temperature environments?

Yes, but performance depends on grade. CP titanium is stable up to around 300–400°C in non-oxidizing conditions, making it suitable for moderate thermal applications.

4. How do you ensure consistency between batches?

We control composition using vacuum melting and perform ultrasonic testing and chemical spectroscopy on every batch to ensure uniform mechanical and chemical properties.
