Tantalum wire mesh is a woven mesh material made from drawn tantalum wires. The warp threads are arranged along the length, while the weft threads cross perpendicularly, forming a uniform open structure. This product combines the material properties of tantalum with the filtering function of a woven mesh.

We don't just offer standard stock products. We produce custom-made products according to customer requirements for wire diameter, open size, weaving method, and panel size.

Customizable Parameters

 

The following variables can be adjusted for each order based on your requirements:

Wire Diameter: 0.025 mm to 1.0 mm, depending on the weaving method

Mesh Count: 2 meshes/inch to 400 meshes/inch

Open Size: 0.037 mm to 12.7 mm

Open Area Ratio: Calculated based on wire diameter and mesh count, typically between 30% and 70%

Panel Size: Cut to your specified width and length, up to 1200 mm × 2400 mm

Edge Treatment: Raw edges, welded edges, or folded edges

Surface Condition: Original woven finish, cleaned, or chemically etched

Production Process

 

Drawing: Tantalum rods are passed sequentially through dies with decreasing diameters until the target wire diameter is reached.

Annealing: The tantalum wires are heat-treated in a vacuum to eliminate work hardening.

Weaving: The tantalum wires are loaded into a loom and continuously woven into rolls.

Cutting: The mesh is cut to the dimensions required by the order using shears or laser cutting.

Cleaning: Ultrasonic cleaning with deionized water removes residual oil from the weaving process.

Inspection: Each mesh is inspected under a magnifying glass for broken wires or irregular openings.

Unless specifically requested by the customer, no lubricant or adhesive residue will remain on the finished mesh.

 

Quality Inspection

 

Each batch of products undergoes the following checks:

Wire Diameter Measurement: Three points on each sample are measured using a micrometer.

Mesh Count Verification: The number of mesh openings within a 25 mm × 25 mm area is counted using an optical comparator.

Opening Size Inspection: Coarse mesh is measured using a calibrated plug gauge; fine mesh is measured using a microscope scale.

Appearance Inspection: 100% of the mesh is inspected for loose wires, stains, or deformation.

Tensile Strength Testing: If requested by the customer, samples are taken from the mesh for testing.

Each batch shipment includes a test report.
