Product features

1.Ultra-high purity, controllable impurities

We have replaced the traditional vacuum melting process with a three-stage electron beam melting method. Through layer-by-layer melting and solidification, we can control the impurities of elements such as tantalum (Ta) to be below 1200 ppm, and the total metal impurities to be no more than 500 ppm. This is not a simple purification process; it starts from the raw material stage and systematically removes impurities layer by layer to ensure the consistency of the composition of each wire.

 

2.2468°C high melting point, does not soften at high temperatures

The melting point of niobium is as high as 2468°C. It maintains mechanical strength even above 1400°C. This is because the body-centered cubic (bcc) crystal structure of niobium is less prone to grain growth at high temperatures. Combined with our multi-stage annealing process, the wire can still maintain an anti-tensile strength of ≥125MPa in a high-temperature environment.

 

3. Nickel-free and lead-free, with excellent biocompatibility

Pure Niobium Wire does not contain any allergenic elements such as nickel and lead. The naturally formed oxide niobium (Nb₂O₅) layer on its surface makes it completely inert to human body fluids. This is not a coating; it is the inherent chemical property of the material - this is also the fundamental reason why it can pass the implantation-level certification.

 

4. Excellent ductility, easy to process and shape

The elongation rate is 20%-25%, and it can be repeatedly bent without breaking. Our drawing process uses a combination of roller die and fixed die for drawing, along with online straightening. The straightness is controlled within 3mm/m, ensuring no deviation during subsequent welding or winding.

Product Application

1.Superconducting magnets (MRI, particle accelerators)

Nickel is superconducting at extremely low temperatures, with a critical temperature of 9.2K. Our high-purity wire has extremely low impurities, meaning less electron scattering and a sharper superconducting transition - this directly determines the stability of the magnetic field strength of the magnet. When used in MRI and accelerators, this means clearer imaging and more precise beam flow.

 

2. Medical Implants and Surgical Instruments

Due to its nickel-free nature, non-allergenic property, and the fact that the oxide layer does not degrade in the body, Pure Niobium Wire can be used for implants such as bone screws and vascular stents. Compared to titanium alloys, niobium has a lower elastic modulus (approximately 105 GPa compared to titanium's 110 GPa), which better matches the human bone structure and reduces the "stress shielding" effect.

 

3. Capacitor Replacement with Tantalum

In niobium capacitors, the niobium oxide dielectric layer remains stable during sintering at 1200-1400°C, unlike tantalum where metal vapor deposition occurs. Our wire has controllable oxygen content (3000-30000 μg/g), specifically optimized for this process window, helping customers reduce material costs while improving yield.

 

4. Arc welding and stainless steel stabilization

Adding niobium as a stabilizing element to stainless steel can prevent intergranular corrosion. The diameter accuracy of our wire is ±0.01mm (for 0.10mm specification), and the wire feeding is uniform during welding, without causing inconsistent weld quality due to diameter fluctuations.

 

5. Jewelry and Anodized Accessories

Tantalum can form interference colors on its surface through anodization, and these colors do not fade - because it is an optical effect rather than a dye. We offer two surface states: polished and acid-washed, which directly affect the final coloring effect.

Customized Services

The customized capabilities of China Super Tech Co., Ltd. are not "capable of doing everything", but rather we have unique control over the following aspects that are difficult for others to replicate:

1.Purity customization (99.5% - 99.99%)

We have our own three-level electron beam melting line, which allows us to adjust the upper limit of impurities as per customer requirements. Most suppliers only offer two options of 99.5% and 99.9%. For impurity levels in between, additional melting is required, which is costly and has a long lead time. We can directly start from the melting parameters and achieve the desired purity in one step.

 

2. Diameter range (0.10mm - 5.00mm)

The drawing yield of fine wires with a diameter below 0.5mm is extremely low. We use a combination of roll die and fixed die drawing with online straightening to control the breakage rate to one-third of the industry average. 0.10mm is not the nominal limit; it is the starting point for stable mass production.

 

3. Surface Treatment

Three options are available: acid pickling (Pickled), polishing (Polished), and custom anodizing. The anodizing color is precisely controlled by voltage. We offer 8 to 16 standard colors with a color difference ΔE of less than 2. It is not adjusted by touch.

 

4. Delivery Guarantee

Standard specifications are delivered within 3 days. Customized specifications take 7 to 10 days. Standard inventory covers mainstream specifications ranging from 0.25mm to 3.00mm. When you place an order, there is a high probability that you won't have to wait.

 

5. Full-volume inspection, not sampling inspection

Each batch comes with an ASTM B392 chemical composition report and a size report. Full-volume reports are issued for each batch to ensure consistency across all volumes - this is particularly crucial for customers in the superconducting and medical industries.
